What is a monoblock heat pump?
A heat pump that holds the full refrigerant circuit in one self-contained unit, so there is no separate outdoor condenser and no linesets to run.
Do I need an outdoor unit as well?
No. dubbll is a single unit that installs through the wall on two 8-inch openings, so there is no outdoor condenser to site.
Monoblock or mini-split, which should I choose?
A mini-split splits the refrigerant circuit between an indoor head and an outdoor condenser, joined by linesets that need brazing and a certified technician. A monoblock keeps everything in one factory-sealed unit that installs through two wall openings. Choose a monoblock when there is nowhere to put a condenser, when a balcony or heritage facade rules one out, when a retrofit has to be quick and low-disruption, or when you do not want refrigerant work on site. Choose a mini-split when you need more capacity than a single monoblock delivers, or when you want to run several indoor heads from one outdoor unit.
