The SPV is an inverter-driven vertical heat pump designed for compact retrofit and new-build spaces.
Variable capacity
Inverter performance lets engineers design to heat loss. Manufacturer figures: up to 11.0 EER2 and COP up to 3.7 at 47°F.
Service from inside
The service compartment is accessible from the inside front. For major work, the unit can slide out of its wall sleeve.
Fresh-air option
A fan-assisted fresh-air package with damper is available. Confirm the configuration against the project requirements.

Sizes, electric heat and sleeves
SPV models cover the 9 to 36 size range. Electric heat is specified separately at 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 or 9 kW. A fresh-air fan is optional.
- Wall sleeves. The in-wall housing the unit slides into. The WS1-58 suits 5-inch to 8-inch wall thickness.
- Louvers. Louvered access panels and outdoor louvers complete the exterior side.

Canadian winter design
Heat-pump operation runs to 15°F, about -9°C. Below that, the electric heat strip carries the load. For Canadian applications, size the strip against the building heat loss rather than treating it as an afterthought.

The SPV is designed to slide into a wall sleeve installed at rough-in. Existing First Co replacement mappings remain subject to manufacturer confirmation for each project.

What is the difference between an SPV and a PTAC?
A PTAC sits horizontally in a through-wall sleeve under a window and conditions one room. An SPV stands vertically, usually in a closet or chase, and can be ducted to serve a whole suite.
What replaces a First Co SPX unit?
The Multi MFG SPV-HP-D, using the existing wall sleeve with no modification. The 12SPX family is replaced by the 12SPV5-HP-D, and both the 18SPX and 24SPX are replaced by the 1824SPV-HP-D.
